Proxmox VE 2.0 – Release Candidate 1 available

Hello World,

Lately, I haven’t got much time to post a lot of stuff related to Proxmox VE 2.0.  I’m kinda busy with multiple projects plus I’ll need to start learning new technologies that are coming quite quickly.

This post will be quite short.  On February 16th 2012, the proxmox ve team has made available the first release candidate of their open source virtualization solution.  The Proxmox VE team is working hard on it and it’s announced that a final version should be availble in Q1 of 2012.

As soon as I have a little bit of time, I’ll start installing and playing again with the version 2.0 of the software. We have already posted some information about how to install PVE 2.0 and how to setup the cluster.  At that time, the software was not including all the features.  The user management or the Authentication providers was not yet included.  The HA feature was not fully feature too.

The release candidate 1 brings these features.  Based on the announcement, user management feature is available as well as the authenticatin provider.  So you can test how you could integrated your Proxmox ve infrastructure within different environment such as Active directory and see how you can take advantage of the new user management feature.

You can download the release candidate here

As soon as I’ve some free time, you will see new posts coming related to Proxmox VE 2.0.  This new release seems to be the perfect moment to start a series of posts related to Proxmox VE 2.0 in order to update the existing information already available and trying to bring some usefull how to guides…

Till Next Time

See ya
